Starting at a new place as a transfer student can be intimidating, but Noah Ackerman explained that it felt as though he had been here for his 鈥渨hole college career.鈥

Visiting Fisher was a turning point in Ackerman鈥檚 decision about transferring, and now he recommends that students considering a transfer to Fisher 鈥渃ome see firsthand鈥 all that attracted him to campus. From his very first conversations with faculty, Ackerman felt it was 鈥渆vident how much effort is placed on getting to know students on a personal level.鈥

After studying at Onondaga Community College, Ackerman chose to complete his undergraduate studies at Fisher because he believed 鈥渢he professors here at Fisher heavily invest in all of their students to make them the best students and people they can possibly be.鈥

鈥淲hen I first called to set up a tour of the campus, I had no idea if I was planning to enroll,鈥 Schneider explained. As he toured campus, he saw himself with the opportunity to excel and complete the undergraduate degree he started before joining the Navy. 鈥淚 walked away from my visit with so much more information about the school, and I knew this was the place for me.鈥

Staff members at Fisher鈥檚 Office of Transfer Admissions work directly with incoming students to transfer credits and ensure a smooth transition. 鈥淭he transfer process was simple and everyone from the admissions office and the Veterans Services Office was available to help at every point along the way,鈥 Schneider said.

Though he started his studies as a biochemistry major, Schneider is now preparing to enroll in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy at Fisher.
